Terrifying moment two children dice with death by dashing across three lanes in front of fast-moving traffic

This is the shocking moment two children run across a slip road on the A1 in Pontefract, West Yorkshire.

The video captured on a dash cam inside a Mazda 6 shows two cars rapidly approaching the children, who were running to opposite sides of the road way. 

Before encountering the children, the car with a dashcam moves into the outside lane as it approached a right hand turn. The slower moving car spotted the children first and braked heavily.

Fortunately, no one was injured after the two children ran across the road in Pontefract

The incident happened around 5pm on September 4 on the slip road between the A1 northbound and the westbound M62. 

The children had waited for a car and a truck to pass before sprinting across the roadway. 

Fortunately nobody was injured in the incredibly foolish incident. 

A police spokeswoman said: 'West Yorkshire Police received a number of reports at around 5.20pm on Monday, September 4, of a group of young people running across the A1 slip road of the M62 at Pontefract.

'Officers notified the Highways Agency; however it was quickly established that the young people had already left the motorway area.'
