Three men in their 20s have been hospitalised after being assaulted outside a fast food restaurant in Sydney's CBD in the early hours of Sunday.

All three were approached by up to eight men when they were attacked with glass bottles at 3.30am.

The brawl had taken place outside McDonald's at the Park and Pitts street intersection, 7News reports.

Officers from Sydney City Local Area Command attended and located three injured men, a 23-year-old and two aged 26.

The two men, aged 26, suffered head lacerations. 

NSW Ambulance Paramedics had treated the three men before they were taken to St Vincent’s Hospital.

They have all since been released.

An investigation into the incident is underway.
