Travis L. Tingler, 32, was arrested in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, on Sunday evening for allegedly standing in the street with no clothes on and threatening people.
Cops found him on the 1100 block of South 25th Street near Hamilton Street, where he was reportedly threatening to kill the occupants of a house with a knife.
But when questioned by police, Tingler told police he had done nothing wrong, USA Today reported.
Police later found a pocket knife and the man's pants on the porch of a nearby home where a woman he was dating was living.
There, a girl told police that Tingler had started drinking three hours earlier and had been making strange comments.
He then smashed a glass on the street and removed his clothes, she said.
'I told him he couldn't be out in the middle of the street with no clothes on,' an officer at the Manitowoc Police Department wrote in a report, according to the website. 'I asked him about his condition. I noticed he had a dazed appearance, blank stare and he sweated profusely.'
When officers tried to escort him into a police car, he resisted, and was tasered. During the struggle, Tingler is thought to have picked up a lighter.

'The second Taser hit him in the hand that was holding the lighter,' said Manitowoc assistant police chief Scott Luchterhand.
But Tingler continued to struggle with police, punching one officer in the face.
Police used a stun gun again to subdue him, causing him to fall to the ground and hit his head.
Officers were eventually able to get pants on him and took him to hospital where he tested positive for marijuana and was found to have a blood alcohol level of 0.177.
