A lucky pup just got a second chance at life after police officers in Florida came to the rescue of a brave Labrador retriever found stuck underneath a fence.
Cocoa Police earlier this week were called to the home of a man who's nine-year-old black lab, Maya, was found pinned downed under the wooden barricade.
Body-cam footage shows two officers, Adam Phan and Xzevies Baez, work with Maya's elderly owner for over ten-minutes to free her from her predicament.
A nine-year-old black Labrador named Maya was rescued earlier this week by Florida police officers
The cops attempted several time to remove the canine from her predicament, but to no avail
As the officers arrive, the footage shows, the unidentified owner attempts to soothe any fears the policemen may have approaching a scared animal by saying Maya is 'loving and gentle' as a dog can be.
They swiftly begin to offer ideas on how to get Maya out from underneath the fence, with one officer pulling the stubborn wooden boards up from the bottom but to no avail.
The owner explains that 'the other dog dug a hole' before Maya attempted to crawl through the small space, suggesting that Maya's owner is the caretaker of multiple canines.
Shovels were then used to free Maya, who was freed after about 10 minutes of digging
In one part of the video, Maya can be seen struggling futilely to unleash herself from the ground, gesticulating and squirming trying desperately to get free.
The officers eventually retrieve some nearby shovels and patiently begin to dig the pooch out from her wooden prison.
'Slowly but surely we'll get it' one officer tells Maya's owner.
Maya can be seen calmly awaiting the efforts of the officer, looking less distressed as the police continue to dig.
Finally, after some ten minutes of digging, the video footage shows the heart-warming moment when Maya is eventually freed, shaking off the dirt and looking happy as she wags her tail in delight.
