Detectives are investing 'strong leads' and believe the man has sexually assaulted other young woman collected from central Brisbane late at night during the past two years, Acting Inspector David Farley said.
'We're investigating a series of what we believe are sexual assaults within the vehicle sharing transport industry,' he told reporters on Saturday.
'We believe that there may be other victims out there that may be too scared to come forward.'
The man, who can't be identified, has been charged with stealing, wilful damage and three counts of rape.
After appearing at Brisbane Magistrates Court on Friday he was remanded in custody.

Investigations are continuing and detectives are encouraging anyone with information to contact police.
'Please be brave enough to come forward,' Acting Inspector Farley said.
The accused rapist is due to return to court July 31.
Am Uber spokesperson said: 'There is no place for the type of behaviour described and our thoughts are with the woman and her family at this difficult time.
'We blocked the driver's access to the app as soon as we became aware of these allegations.
'We've been in contact with the Queensland Police and will assist the investigation in any way we can.'
