Female staff working in a gold processing mint may be forced to wear work-issued bras under a controversial measure to bolster security.
The move is being considered at the Perth Mint after a contractor working at the refinery allegedly snatched a gold bar worth more than $50,000.
In the wake of the theft the mint has considered banning metal-free clothing - including bras - for staff entering high-security zones, according to ABC.

Female staff at the mint have been reportedly been told they may be forced to wear work-issued undergarments.
The move has been blasted as 'disgraceful' by the Australian Manufacturing Workers Union, who say it unfairly targets women.
'We think it's a disgrace' said Secretary of the Australian Manufacturing Workers Union, Steve McCartney.
'It's an attack on women's rights and an attack on women.'
He said there must be technology available that would allow women to escape the embarrassment of the proposed plan.
The Perth Mint has reportedly began consideringalternative security technology including body scanning equipment.
