Zhang was last seen in a video on the day she went missing after she got off of a bus in Urbana and later got into a car
The video, taken from surveillance at a nearby parking garage, shows Zhang standing on the road when the car pulls up beside her. She then has a brief chat with the driver before getting into the car.
Police are looking at her cellphone records and investigating whether the car may have been an Uber or other ride-sharing vehicle.
A spokesman for the University police, Patrick Wade, said they need the public's help to identify the vehicle, according to The Champaign News-Gazette.
'The biggest thing right now is we are asking people to watch that video. Our hope is that someone will recognize the vehicle, or have some information about that encounter that we can follow up on,' he said.

Authorities believe she was last seen wearing a charcoal gray hat with a white logo on the front and a pink and white flannel long sleeved shirt, jeans, white shoes and a navy backpack. She has dark shoulder-length hair and wears glasses, police said.
She has only been living in the college town for about a month, and has been staying in University housing.
