The Gonzalez family, from Arlington, Texas, returned to their apartment on Sunday night to find raccoons roaming around
The critters had come crashing through the ceiling after the family was told the loud noises they heard were just squirrels. 'Friday night it sounded like they had a party up there,' Fernanda Gonzalez said

Gonzalez believes the situation could have been prevented.
'Friday night it sounded like they had a party up there,' she told CBS11.
'We were trying to call maintenance. I even left a message.'
She and her husband snapped cellphone pictures and recorded video, and then called Arlington Police.
Officer Joshua Crockett arrived to round up the furry critters.
'I learned to expect the unexpected,' he told CBS11.
'I just reached out and grabbed them one by one and placed them in the box. I was happy to smile while I did it and put this family at ease.'
The family called Arlington Police, and Officer Joshua Crockett (pictured) arrived to round up the furry critters. 'I was happy to smile while I did it and put this family at ease' he said
The problem has not gone away, however. Gonzalez recorded video on Wednesday night of raccoons traipsing around her roof and was told that it was just 'Mother Nature'
The raccoons were then released at a local park.
The family's ceiling has since been fixed, but the problem has not gone away. Gonzalez has shot three more videos of raccoons roaming around on the roof.
She's worried about fleas biting her 10-month-old baby and wants to switch to another apartment. Management has since told them they would be move by June 17, but that an incident like this was just 'Mother Nature'.
Inspection records show that this is the first of such an incident being reported for the apartment complex and that it received a score of 100 on its last inspectio,n which equates to a 'well above average' performing property.
