One for the road! Shocking moment brainless Mini Cooper driver drinks a can of BEER while motoring along the A3

This is the shocking moment a motorist was caught swigging a can of beer while driving on a dual carriageway.

In the 40-second clip, which was captured by beady-eyed police on the A3 near Guildford, Surrey, the driver of the red convertible Mini Cooper looks relaxed as he momentarily takes his hand off the steering wheel to take a sip of Kronenbourg. 

But his serene moment was short-lived.

Just moments after the footage was taken, stunned police pulled him over for suspected drink driving. 

The man, who has not been identified, was then made to take a breathalyser test and made to wait 20 minutes on the side of the road.

While the man was caught - quite literally - drink driving, he was not arrested as he was still under the limit.

However, Surrey police have published the footage on Twitter as warning to other drivers.

Writing on the social media site, police said the man 'had been given very strong words of advice'.

They pointed out that, while in the UK it's not illegal to drink while driving, it can carry penalties in other countries.

The police force added that, had the driver continued to drink without being stopped, he may well have gone over the limit without realising it.
