Man! Can that really be Dave dragging on a joint?

It is a picture that will make grass-roots Tories think they are hallucinating - David Cameron puffing on a joint.


If this exclusive photograph is to be believed, Mr Cameron has been selling pre-rolled joints from a homemade stall at the Glastonbury pop festival.

At least the sales pitch - "My grass is greener" - shows the 40-year-old's support for environmentally friendly policies is no fad.

And Prince Charles will no doubt be pleased to see that the Conservative leader would only sell marijuana that is '100 per cent organic'. His entrepreneurial skills and grasp of economics, with the joints keenly priced at just £2 a time, will also no doubt strike fear into the heart of Chancellor Gordon Brown.

Mr Cameron also demonstrates himself to be a film buff - Cameron Carrots is an ironic nod to the 1987 cult film Withnail And I, which features an enormous joint known as a "Camberwell Carrot".

Fortunately for Mr Cameron, any discomfort he has on seeing the picture will be short-lived as it was concocted with the help of actors by celebrity lookalike specialist Alison Jackson, who won a Bafta for her BBC 2 show Double Take.

The picture is one of several Miss Jackson created for a photo story of next month's Glastonbury Festival for this week's Live magazine - a Summer Festival Special - in The Mail on Sunday.

Other pictures include Tony and Cherie Blair trying to scale the security fences, Kate Moss covering her ears as her boyfriend Pete Doherty sings, Prince William marrying in a druid ceremony and Madonna and Guy Ritchie struggling to erect their two-man tent.

There is, however, a serious side to the picture. In February, The Mail on Sunday revealed, Mr Cameron, a former PR man for Carlton TV, was forced to admit he had smoked cannabis as a 15-year-old at Eton and had narrowly avoided being expelled.

He has traditionally deflected all questions on his drug use by saying he is entitled to a 'private past'.
