The pelicans that got married

If you've never believed in love at first sight, prepare to suspend that disbelief.
For from the second they laid their beady eyes on one another, it was clear that these two pelicans were meant to be.
These photos capture the moment Pangpang the pelican met his new lover Yuanyuan - on their wedding day.
Pangpang, according to reports, had been depressed after the loss of his mate in an accident three years ago.

His keepers at the National Forest Park in Fuzhou, in southeast China's Fujian province, were so concerned by his distress that they felt compelled to splash out and buy Yuanyuan.
A lady of the south - Sanya in southern China's Hainan province, to be exact - Yuanyuan met Pangpang at their new home on their wedding day.
It's enough to make the most confirmed cynic give a grudging smile.
