Police are today hunting a thief or thieves who caused thousands of pounds worth of damage after stealing a large digger.
The vehicle was taken from a building site in the Aberdeenshire village of Rothienorman.
It was then driven across roads and fields, causing a significant amount of damage to fences, crops and pheasant pens. The digger itself was also damaged.
Grampian Police are investigating the incident and said that while the exact cost of the damage was not yet known, the bill was likely to run to several thousand pounds.

PC Chris Arnott, who is based at Turriff police station, said: "Grampian Police are treating this incident very seriously, due to the potential for serious injury to members of the public and to the culprits themselves.
"They have shown utter disregard for the property of the people in and around Rothienorman. They are possibly not aware of the full consequences of their actions but they have caused significant inconvenience to others.
"Rothienorman is usually a nice quiet village and some one must know something about who was responsible for this trail of destruction."
PC Arnott urged anyone with any information about the incident, which took place sometime between 5pm on Friday and 7am yesterday, to contact the police.
