An adorable pet tortoise has been filmed chasing a ball around the room like a puppy.

The cute reptile, named Bubba, excitedly runs after the purple toy exactly like a pet dog would do.

It crawls - with surprising speed - around its owner's lounge in the short clip.

Bubba's owner who lives in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, said: 'Most of the viewers to date have found extraordinary, surprising and hilarious.'

Sadly for Bubba the tortoise the ball ends up under the sofa out of reach.

But the happy tortoise isn't that bothered and continues merrily running around the room.

Tortoises aren't normally known for their speed but this one races around the room not letting its shell weigh it down.
