Two drivers dead after trucks collide head-on on a busy highway into Sydney and explode into a fireball - causing traffic chaos 

  • Two trucks collided head-on in Wilton, NSW, at 5am on Friday, killing one driver
  • One motorist was thrown from their vehicle and died at the scene of the smash
  • The other driver's body was found inside his burnt out cabin, police said
  • Commuters have been warned to expect rush hour chaos following the crash

Two drivers have died after their trucks collided head on, rolled and burst into flames on a busy highway into Sydney.

The two trucks smashed into each other on Picton Road in Wilton, New South Wales, at about 5am on Friday.

One of the drivers was thrown from their cab by the force of the crash and died at the scene.

The second trucker's body was found inside his burnt out cabin, police said.

The two vehicles are still ablaze and Picton Road - the B88 - has been closed and is expected to remain shut for hours.

Crash investigators are on the scene.

Rush hour traffic chaos is expected and motorists heading east have been advised to use Appin Road instead.

Westbound traffic is being diverted onto Macarthur Driver, Wilton Road, Argyle Street and Almond Street.
