For several hours, Lady Liberty didn't shine so brightly.
The famed The Statue of Liberty was temporarily in the dark Tuesday night after what a spokesman calls an 'unplanned outage.'
The statue went dark, except for the crown and torch, at around 10pm.
The lights returned shortly before midnight, according to WCBS-TV.

The outage sparked conversation on social media that perhaps it was done deliberately for Wednesday's 'A Day Without Women' protest of inequality.
But National Park Service spokesman Jerry Willis says the outage probably was related to a project for a new emergency backup generator.
He says the official cause will be determined Wednesday when crews return to work on the project, 'part of our last remaining Hurricane Sandy recovery projects.'
At the end of February, protesters released a huge banner on the Statue of Liberty that read 'Refugees Welcome' - on the day Homeland Security tightened immigration rules.
The 20ft sign hung on the statue, that has welcomed immigrants to the United States since 1886, for over an hour before it was removed from the observation deck.

Designed by Frederic Bartholdi, the statue is a neo-classical sculpture representing the Roman Goddess of Freedom, Libertas.
She was a present to America from France to celebrate her independence and was erected in 1886 in Upper New York Bay on Liberty Island.
Bartholdi's inspiration for the statue was a comment made by politician Édouard René de Laboulaye in mid-1865, when he stated: 'If a monument should rise in the United States, as a memorial to their independence, I should think it only natural if it were built by united effort - a common work of both our nations.'
Bartholdi was also present at the dinner - and the rest is history.
She makes for a truly exhilarating sight for anyone entering New York.
The main body of the statue stands at 151ft high, but with the pedestal included, reaches 305ft.
She has been featured in several Hollywood flicks, including Independence Day, Cloverfield, The Day After Tomorrow, and, of course, Planet Of The Apes, where she appears buried in a beach.
