Two people were taken to hospital today after shoppers were evacuated from a fire-hit Asda supermarket.
Fire crews from around Bedfordshire were called to tackle the blaze at the Wigmore Lane store in Luton.
One shopper said 'dense and vile' smoke billowed into the superstore after an orange glow was seen in the building's roof.

Two people were taken to hospital after experiencing breathing difficulties but their conditions are not described as life-threatening.
Fire and Rescue crews tweeted: 'We now have 16 fire engines, 3 Arial Platforms, a water carrier & Incident Command Unit fighting the fire at Asda #WigmoreLane #Luton'
Police closed off the area and advised locals to stay away.
A spokesman for East of England Ambulance said: 'An ambulance, rapid response vehicle and ambulance officer were dispatched to the call, which came in at 11.56am, and provided care to two people who were having difficulty breathing.
'After treatment at scene, both patients have been taken to the Luton and Dunstable Hospital for further care. Thankfully their condition isn't thought to be life-threatening.
'The Trust's hazardous area response team (HART) remains on standby at the scene to provide support to fire service colleagues.'
