At play, wrestling, taking a nap and tenderly carrying their cubs across the Arctic wastes - these intimate pictures show polar bears as you've never seen them before.
Wildlife photographer Norbert Rosing spent 20 years deep in the frozen landscapes of the Far North, in temperatures as low as -28c, in his obsession to show the animals in their natural environment.
More amazing pictures of the cubs at play
He observed them climbing from the sea onto an ice floe, shaking the water from their fur to stop ice crystals forming on it; watched as cubs emerged from their dens into sunshine for the first time at the end of winter; and heard a mother calling her cubs towards her with a noisy puffing sound known as chuffing.
