Armed man in British embassy compound

An armed man has gained access to the British Embassy compound in Tel Aviv, the Foreign Office confirmed today.
The man is in the car park outside the front of the main building, according to a spokesman. He is thought to be carrying a pistol.
The spokesman said: "We are aware of an incident and the Israeli police are on the scene.
"He is in the car park. There have been no reports of any injuries."
Reports suggested the man was threatening to kill himself.
