Chancellor Gordon Brown can't hide his happiness as poses for the first family portrait since the birth of his second son, James Fraser Vaughan, last month.
Speaking about the joy of becoming a father again soon after his wife, Sarah, gave birth to James at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary last month, Mr Brown said: "It's the best thing that ever happened to me. I feel that the sun is shining very brightly on our family."
James is Mr Brown's first Christian name, while Frasier was apparently chosen by their other son John.
Mr Brown added: "He's very strong and he's very healthy. I think he's going to be a pretty good footballer. He's got John's blue eyes. Our son John is incredibly happy. He's looking for someone to play football with, I think.
"I just love being a dad. It's the most important thing you do and it's the best thing that's ever happened to me," the Chancellor continued.
"We've got a wonderful addition to our family. We've got two great, marvellous boys.
The Browns' first child, Jennifer Jane, died aged 10 days after being born prematurely in 2002. The couple were married two years previously in North Queensferry, Fife.
