Fake visas alert after forms theft

Britain's ports and airports have been told to be on the look-out for anyone trying to enter the country on a fake visa after hundreds of blank visa forms were stolen.
A box of 900 vignettes - the blank forms on which the visas are printed - disappeared as they were being transported from a printing plant to the Foreign Office in central London.
There are concerns that they may have been sold on the black market in India and Pakistan after a number of people from south-east Asia were stopped at Heathrow Airport trying to enter Britain with the false visas in their passports.
The counterfeits were easily identified as each one has a serial number.
It is unclear how they were taken or whether others have already been used to enter Britain.
A Foreign Office spokeswoman said police were investigating the theft, which happened in March.
She said: "All ports and airports have been informed.
"We are confident we have sufficient measures in place to stop people from entering the UK on the fake visas.
"Security is very stringent."
