For most teachers, dealing with one set of twins would be hard enough - but imagine having to learn the difference between 11 pairs.

That is the reality for educators at Sterling Elementary School in Arenac County, Michigan, which boasts 11 sets of twins - making up 10 per cent of the student body.

Ranging from identical to fraternal twins, the youngsters told WNEM TV they enjoy spending time with their other halves at school as it stops them feeling lonely.

Paige and Paisley Vallad also said they have found it easy to make other friends at the 300-strong school - which caters for children in kindergarten to the fifth grade.

'There are a lot of people here you can make friends with,' they said.

Their mother, Rachel Vallad, added: 'They have a lifelong bond, a best friend forever.

'Whether they know it now or not. They will have it forever. It would be kind of neat to have someone go through life with you side by side.'
