How to confound the computers

Paul has revealed the first three cheats on his British list exclusively to The Mail on Sunday. They are:

DHL

To bypass the computer, Paul advises: 'Press no buttons and the system thinks you don't have a touch-tone phone and puts you straight through to the first available person.'

Goldfish

Press 0 # three times at speed when asked to enter your account number and you are transferred to an operator.

MBNA

Press * repeatedly (approximately ten times), pause and then press 0 to speak to an agent.
