VA - voluntary aided
VC - voluntary controlled
PUPILS shows the number of pupils eligible to take the tests
7 to 11 is the Government's 'contextual value-added' score, which shows how much difference an individual school has made to pupils' performance.
Schools' results are weighted to take account of factors outside it's control, such as the achievement of pupils on entry and the number of pupils eligible for free school meals. Schools where pupils did as well as expected score 100. Each point above or below 100 roughly equals a term's progress gained or lost
ENGLISH shows the percentage of pupils achieving the expected standard - level four - in English
MATHS shows the percentage of pupils achieving the expected standard in maths
SCIENCE shows the percentage of pupils achieving the expected standard in science.
04 - 06 Avg shows the average aggregate score achieved by pupils at the school in the previous three years, for comparison with the 2007 figure. The aggregate is the combined total of the English, maths and science figures. Schools without a figure did not, for varying reasons, have a full set of test results for these three years.
TOTAL shows the school's aggregate score in 2007, the combined total of the English, maths and science figures.
AVERAGE POINT SCORE is intended to reflect the attainment of all pupils, not just those reaching level four. The number of points assigned to each level is 33 for level five, 27 for level four, 21 for level three and 15 for level two and below.
ABSENCE shows the percentage of half-days missed by pupils with and without authorisation and in total, with and without authorisation. If the field is blank the school did not provide information.
