Bridget Jones finds a lover
by CAROLINE GRAHAM, Mail on Sunday
Bridget Jones author Helen Fielding's days as a single woman appear to be over. Like her calorie-counting, wine-swilling, man-obsessed creation, Fielding has found her 'Mark Darcy' in the shape of married scriptwriter Kevin Curran.
The American has been staying at Fielding's £1 million house in the Hollywood Hills, despite owning his own plush property nearby.
Fielding, 40, has remained coy about their relationship, refusing to admit if she could soon become a 'smug married', as Bridget Jones would put it. Instead, she will say only that he is 'lovely, very funny and sweet'.
Fielding was pictured with Curran as she promoted the movie version of the best-selling novel, which opens this week. With his slight paunch and glasses, he is nothing like the fantasy hero - played in the film by Colin Firth - Fielding created for Bridget.
He writes for The Simpsons, and was one of a handful of people Fielding knew in Los Angeles when she moved there from London's Notting Hill. The couple met on a tour to promote her best-seller.
