Humperdinck's joy over return of dog

Engelbert Humperdinck spoke today of his joy at being reunited with his pet German shepherd after he feared it had been dog-napped.
Six-month-old Tarnie escaped from her master's home, in Great Glen, Leicestershire, at about 4pm on Monday.
The 69-year-old crooner then scoured the streets with a dog whistle, posted notices around the village and contacted local media to try to track it down.
Tarnie was still missing by Tuesday afternoon and the man famous for hits like Release Me and There Goes My Everything thought the worst after a neighbour said he saw people trying to catch a dog matching its description.
But a local family then delivered Tarnie to her owner after hearing about the public appeal for the missing dog, said Mr Humperdinck today.
They had been caring for Tarnie after finding the
pup without a name tag and carrying a slight injury.
Mr Humperdinck said: "I am overjoyed that the dog was returned to us. We had heard it had been picked up because it had slipped out on to the road and been hit by a car.
"She did not have a name tag so obviously the people did not know who to return it to. With the help of the media, Tarnie was returned to us.
"I was so excited to get her back I did not even ask their names."
Mr Humperdinck said he will take no more chances with Tarnie, and will get his pet tagged with a microchip next week.
