University College London has announced that a cleaner who worked in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering died in the bus bombing in Tavistock Square.
Gladys Wundowa was killed, along with 12 other people, when the number 30 bus exploded.
'Difficult time'
Professor Malcolm Grant, president and provost of UCL, said: "It has been an exceptionally difficult time for everyone at UCL.
"Our thoughts are with all those who have been the casualties of this outrage and their friends and families."
Mrs Wundowa, 51, finished her early-morning shift at 9am on Thursday before heading for a college course at Shoreditch, east London.
UCL also confirmed that Professor Phillip Patsalos, from the Institute of Neurology, was seriously injured in the bombings.
Prof Grant went on: "We have been flooded with messages of concern and support from around the
world, for which we are extremely grateful.
"We are in good shape. We know that, given the location of the explosions, we have been fortunate not to have suffered much greater damage.
"We are deeply shocked by this tragedy, but our response to it is to get on with restoring normality and performing our daily tasks."
