Two-minute silence to be held for bomb victims

A two-minute silence will be held on Thursday to remember victims of the London bombings.
People across the country will be asked to observe the silence at noon. The Government said the silence would take in the transport network.
Ministers are also planning a special site in London for families of the victims to gather to observe the silence.
The move was announced by Culture Secretary Tessa Jowell - who is in charge of Government support for victims' families - and London Mayor Ken Livingstone.
Ms Jowell said: "We hope that there will be a place in London where families very particularly can come together in addition to the family centre in Victoria being a meeting place."
Brendan Barber, general secretary of the TUC, said: "We welcome the announcement that there is to be a two-minute silence to remember all those who lost their lives or were injured in last week's atrocities.
"London is a diverse city, full of people from many different backgrounds, and will not be intimidated by those that seek to spread terror and fear.
"Next week's silence will allow working people everywhere the chance to express their sympathies to those that have lost loved ones and give thanks to the heroes and heroines of London's emergency and transport services."
