Atlanta school moves its prom over concerns about 'pro-white' rally planned on the same day

An Atlanta high school is moving its prom to another site after a 'pro-white' rally was organized nearby.
Parents fear violence could erupt outside Peachtree Ridge High School in Georgia as a counter-protest has been scheduled for the same day as the dance.
WSB-TV reports that Principal Jeff Matthews sent a note to parents, saying officials understood their concerns.

The letter said in part: 'While we had been reassured that our prom and the other event would not overlap, we listened and understood the concerns raised by our community members and continued to look for alternative options.
'The voice of the Peachtree Ridge family has helped us in successfully relocating our students' event.'
Matthews said the dance will still be held April 23, but will be moved to the Westin Buckhead Atlanta hotel.
Last week, school officials assured parents that their students would be safe at the prom's original location, saying they didn't anticipate any problems.
