A teenager who duped eBay customers out of more than £45,000 has been sentenced to 12 months detention and training.
Phillip Shortman, 18, of Chester Close, New Inn, Pontypool, South Wales, admitted 21 counts of obtaining property by deception on a previous occasion.
Today judge Roderick Denyer QC, sitting at Cardiff Crown Court, lifted an order banning the identification of Shortman, who turned 18 earlier this week.
High life
The court heard how Shortman, who did not have goods to sell, spent the cash living the good life - hiring limousines, going on holidays and buying designer clothes.
He would taunt customers enquiring about their goods, on one occasion saying: "This is my business - I make people fools."
