A Crown Prosecution Service worker was arrested today in a corruption investigation, Scotland Yard confirmed.
The 26-year-old man is being questioned over allegations that he deliberately passed on information to jeopardise a case at an unnamed London crown court.
Officers said a 28-year-old man, who does not work for the CPS, was also arrested on suspicion of receiving the information.
A Scotland Yard spokeswoman said: "A proactive operation by the Directorate of Professional Standards Anti Corruption Command has resulted in the arrests today of a 28-year-old man and a 26-year-old man, who works for the Crown Prosecution Service.
"Intelligence came to light indicating a CPS representative working at a crown court in London was unlawfully providing information to the 28-year-old man, in order to compromise an ongoing prosecution at that court."
Police refused to discuss details of the case at the centre of the allegations.
