Spring can be a dangerous time, with hay fever, sunburn and insects presenting a whole new minefield of perils to look out for. 

Lying in wait in the grass with their enticing black-and-yellow colouring, bees and wasps can make an intriguing mid-morning snack. 

Of course everyone knows that on no account should they be eaten...

But nobody warned these unsuspecting hounds. 

For this collection of embarrassed pups it may be one of the worst days of their lives but, luckily for us, swollen noses and puffy jowls make for extremely cute viewing.
