Snooker player in drugs arrest
Snooker player Jimmy White is being questioned by police today on suspicion of possessing a class A drug.
The 41-year-old was arrested at the Holiday Inn in Preston, Lancs, having been in the city to play an exhibition match at the Guildhall.
He was questioned by Lancashire Police and released on police bail until April 21.
A spokeswoman for Lancashire Constabulary said: "A man was arrested in the early hours of this morning at a hotel in Preston on suspicion of possessing a class A drug.
"A substance was recovered and we will be carrying out tests to find out exactly what it was."
White was staying at the hotel with snooker legend Alex Higgins, who was not arrested.
