Last updated at 15:41 28 April 2004
A sixth person arrested on suspicion of terrorist activity last week has been released without charge, police said today.
That leaves only four out of the 10 arrested
still in custody.
The nine men and one woman, all of north African and Iraqi Kurd origin, were arrested on suspicion of the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism.
Two men and the woman were released at the weekend and another two men were released on Monday night and re-arrested on suspicion of
other offences.
The latest man to be released, who was arrested in South Yorkshire, has since been re-arrested on behalf of the immigration service.
A spokeswoman for Greater Manchester Police, who led the operation, said: "To date, six people who were arrested on Monday April 19 under the Terrorism Act 2000 have been released without charge.
"Four men remain in custody. Warrants for further detention have been granted until tomorrow morning."
