Man quizzed in hunt for missing girl

A 30-year-old man is helping police with enquiries in the search for a missing teenager.

Officers suspect 15-year-old Tammy Leanne Lane went missing from her home in Waunheulog, Brynmawr, near Ebbw Vale, South Wales, after arranging to meet someone through an internet chat room.

Gwent Police said Tammy was last seen leaving Newcross Hospital in Wolverhampton at around 3am on Sunday.

She was wearing a pink top and blue jeans and is thought to have been heading to the local train station in Wolverhampton or Birmingham New Street station.

Detectives are interested in locating a man and woman who might have accompanied Tammy to either of those stations. It is believed she is now in the Birmingham area.

Although Tammy has gone missing before, she has always returned home.

Her parents reported her missing after she was last seen by a family friend and local shopkeeper in Brynmawr early on Wednesday, January 28.

Tammy told the friend at the shop that she was travelling to Birmingham to visit family, but she has no relatives in the West Midlands area.

She is described as around 5ft 7in, of stocky build with a fresh complexion, blue eyes and shoulder-length blonde hair.
