Fears for missing Internet girls
Police are growing increasingly concerned over the whereabouts of two young girls who have gone missing after going to meet someone they met over the Internet, Scotland Yard have said.
Denise Robotham, 12, and Sinead Ormand, 13, have not been seen since they left their north London homes on Friday afternoon.
Scotland Yard said Denise and Sinead had been in contact with a number of people over the Internet.
The force said officers had identified three 14-year-old boys in Norfolk who had admitted contact via the Internet with the girls over the last few weeks.
It is not yet known if the girls have gone to Norfolk in the hope of re-establishing contact with the boys or whether they are meeting another person, as yet unidentified, elsewhere in the country.
Police said the two girls left their school, Hornsey School for Girls, north London. at 11am on Friday after attending just two lessons.
Officers believe the girls then went to Sinead's house in Coleman Mansions, north London, to collect belongings and money. Denise was also spotted by a neighbour returning to her home at Lomand Close, and leaving.
Scotland Yard said the girls had tried to arrange a meeting with the three Norfolk boys they had met over the Internet.
However, the boys declined the invitation and insisted the girls had never been to their homes.
Police are now examining the e-mails, Internet history and hard drive on Sinead's home computer for clues as to the girls' whereabouts.
