Pupil charged with schoolboy murder
A 15-year-old schoolboy arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of a pupil at a secondary school has been charged with his murder, police said.
The teenager had been in custody at Skegness Police Station following the death of 14-year-old Luke Walmsley at Birkbeck School, in North Somercotes, Lincolnshire.
Luke was stabbed through the heart in a corridor near the school's science laboratory.
A spokesman for Lincolnshire Police said: "A 15-year-old boy has now been charged with the murder of Luke Walmsley and he will appear at Skegness Magistrates Court tomorrow morning at 10am."
Earlier Luke's mother Jayne Walmsley told how her son was a member of Grimsby Judo Club and he played football for the North Somercotes under-15s.
She revealed he wanted to become a policeman when he left school.
Luke lived with his mother in Cleethorpes and she brought him to school each day. He had a younger sister called Lauren.
