Disabled man run over by car-jackers
Vicious car-jackers assaulted a severely disabled man before stealing his car and running him over as he lay on the ground, police said today.
The sickening attack happened in the Top Valley area of Nottingham when the victim, a man in his 30s, was pushed to the ground while the offenders stole his car keys.
They then made off in his Honda car, running him over before abandoning the vehicle just a few minutes later, a police spokeswoman said.
The attack was carried out at about 11am yesterday as the disabled victim was next to his car in Penllech Walk.
He was attacked by two males who left him lying on the ground and made no attempt to stop when they struck him as they escaped in the blue car.
The offenders made off towards Park View Road and the stolen vehicle was later found abandoned in nearby Ranskill Gardens.
The victim was taken to Nottingham's Queen's Medical Centre where he was treated and later released.
