Manning up: your cut out and keep guide
Exposed: Thom Browne's mankles
Yesterday, my colleague Quentin Letts wrote an impassioned piece against the current fashion for the displaying of ‘mankles’, a fashionable new term for men’s ankles.
The neologism ‘Mankles’ follows hard on the, erm, heels of Mankini, meaning a male bikini, and Manbag, meaning a male handbag.
We seem to be at the start of a fad for adding a masculine edge to any word by changing its first syllable to ‘man’. To pre-empt the forthcoming avalanche, or manvalanche, I have compiled this handy, or mandy, cut-out-and-keep Mancyclopaedia.
