Killer wants return of autobiography
Serial killer Dennis Nilsen will make a High Court bid on Monday for the return of the manuscript of his autobiography.
His lawyers will argue that the Home Secretary and the governor of Full Sutton Prison, near York, where Nilsen, aged 57, is currently held are unlawfully refusing to return the partially-completed work.
Nilsen, a civil servant, admitted killing and butchering 15 young men, most of them homeless homosexuals, at his north London home.
The former policeman was jailed for life in 1983, with a recommendation that he serve a minimum of 25 years, on six counts of murder and two of attempted murder.
His legal action, which is due to be heard at the High Court in London, challenges a refusal last October by the prison authorities to hand the manuscript back to him.
