Two charged after man run over
Two people have been charged with the attempted murder of a grandfather who was run over as he attempted to stop thieves stealing his car.
West Midlands Police said a 25-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman would appear before magistrates in Dudley charged with attempting to kill father-of-three Terence Bowen.
Mr Bowen suffered serious fractures to both legs when he was twice struck by his own Rover 25 on his driveway on Wednesday, the eve of his 62nd birthday.
The semi-retired plasterer also sustained serious abdominal injuries during the incident outside his semi-detached home in Old Park Farm, Dudley.
