Man remanded on murder charge
A 30-year-old man charged with the murder of June Everitt, who died after being struck by her own car, was remanded in custody when he appeared in court
Magistrates in Luton remanded Manny Davis to appear at Luton Crown Court on July 25.
Bedfordshire Police said Davis told the court he was of no fixed address but said the charge sheet had his address as Artisan Avenue, St Albans, Herts.
The murder charge follows the death of 52-year-old Miss Everitt near her home in Ridgway Road in the High Town area of Luton, on the evening of July 3.
Miss Everitt, a spinster who worked for a corporate merchandising company, was dragged about 20 yards along the ground and suffered multiple injuries when her top-of-the-range Renault Megane was taken as she was unloading shopping from the vehicle.
She was taken to hospital but died about four hours later.
The Renault Megane was found about a week later, less than two miles from her home.
