Student murder charge man in custody
A man charged with the murder of Finnish student Suvi Aronen was remanded in custody when he appeared in court today.
Unemployed Jason Dockrill spoke only once to confirm his name and address during the hearing, at Redbridge Magistrates' Court, east London.
Dockrill, 33, of West Road, Stratford, east London, was charged with the murdering Miss Aronen last Thursday in Wanstead, east London.
The battered body of the 23-year-old student body
was found in undergrowth.
Dockrill, who appeared in court wearing a dark navy blue sweatshirt with the motif Havana 66 on the front, and black trousers, stood in the dock flanked by two security guards.
He looked at the floor for most of the hearing.
Dockrill was also charged with four other offences on the same day.
He was charged with assaulting and trying to rob 44-year-old Fahima Albacznigi, assaulting 80-year-old Karin Karina, and robbing 56-year-old Glynis Moore.
Chairwoman Rosemary Potten remanded Dockrill in
custody to appear at the Old Bailey on April 1.
Reporting restrictions were not lifted.
