Arrest Adams, say unionists
Unionists are calling for Gerry Adams to be arrested and questioned about claims that he planned and sanctioned an IRA bombing which killed 12 people.
Lagan Valley UUP MP Jeffrey Donaldson said the Sinn Fein president must be challenged on allegations that he played a leading part in the bombing of the La Mon House Hotel in 1978.
"The police should arrest and question Gerry Adams about the allegations that have been made so that we can determine the role he may have played," he said.
His demand follows claims by Strangford Democratic Unionist MP Iris Robinson in the House of Commons that Mr Adams had sanctioned and approved the attack on the hotel on the outskirts of Belfast.
Mr Adams was questioned by police investigating the bombing at the time but was not charged.
But the Government rejected Mrs Robinson's call for an independent inquiry into the atrocity.
Mr Adams denied having any part in the La Mon bombing.
He said the remarks were made to deflect attention away from developments in the Stevens Inquiry into alleged collusion between the security forces and loyalist paramilitaries.
