Woman charged with father's murder
A 42-year-old woman was today charged with the murder of her elderly father who died after a road collision yards from his home, police said.
Retired farmer Roy Sutton, 71, died in hospital from injuries suffered in a collision at around 11pm on Monday near his home at West End Farm in the village of Winteringham, Humberside.
A post-mortem examination yesterday showed Mr Sutton died from multiple injuries consistent with being struck by a vehicle.
His youngest daughter Wendy, 42, was arrested and had been questioned by Humberside Police throughout the day.
Wendy Sutton of Marsh Lane, Winteringham will appear before Scunthorpe Magistrates' Court tomorrow morning.
Mr Sutton leaves a 68-year-old widow and another daughter, aged 47, a son-in-law and one granddaughter aged 20.
