Disgraced Kathy Griffin boasts about scolding female driver who didn't know anything about ICE raids because she finds news too depressing
Comedian Kathy Griffin took to social media to ridicule a driver who ignored the news about the ICE raids occurring across America because she found it 'too depressing.'
Griffin made a Threads post on Sunday describing the encounter that happened while she was on her New Face, New Tour.
Her tour schedule indicated she was in Concord, New Hampshire, at the time.
'Ok. Coming clean. I had a driver tonight, didn’t know anything about ICE or ICE abductions or the murders,' Griffin wrote.
'She said she lives under a rock and doesn’t watch the news because it’s too depressing. Am I being a b**** because I [think] that’s as bad as being complicit?'
Griffin was referring to the deaths of Alex Pretti and Renee Good, who were shot by federal officers in Minneapolis on January 24 and January 7, respectively.
One commenter added that surely Griffin 'explained a few facts' with 'grace.'
Griffin sarcastically replied: 'Oh yeah, I'm known for my grace.'
Prior to her 2017 scandal, Griffin won two Emmy awards and a Grammy for her comedic prowess
Griffin has been vocal about her anti-ICE beliefs, frequently resharing video and articles on the topic
The comedienne has become an infamous left-wing voice after posing with a mock version of Donald Trump's severed head in 2017.
The scandal put the disgraced actress on the no-fly list and sent the FBI to her home.
Some commenters supported her sentiments, while others ridiculed her for being overly critical of the driver.
'So you think it’s normal and sane to strike up a conversation about ICE with someone you just met?' said one person.
'The narcissism of the Left is truly bewildering,' another added. 'You call people (fascists/racists/bigots/insert word of the day) because they don’t agree with your uninformed, emotional takes on the headline mainstream news you consume.
'You’re too old for this, Kathy.'
'So because you don't agree with the current climate, everyone who just wants to be left alone and not be depressed has to watch the news anyway?,' a third chimed in.
Comedian Kathy Griffin came under fire in 2017 for posting a picture with a mask posed as a decapitated Trump head
'Give me a f****** break, lady.'
Griffin frequently reposts articles, videos and photos expressing her support for immigrants and protestors.
On her YouTube show Kathy Griffin: Talk Your Head Off, a nod to her scandal, she encouraged her followers to identify their MAGA neighbors to better organize against ICE.
'It's time to talk to your neighbors, find out if they're MAGA or not,' she said, according to Fox. 'And start to plan. Is there a way we can do something as a community?'
The 65-year-old was an extremely prominent comedian before her almost career-ending scandal.
Griffin made a post on Threads criticizing a driver who said she avoided the news because it's 'too depressing'
She won two Emmy Awards for her reality series Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List and a Grammy in 2014 for her comedy album Kathy Griffin: Calm Down Gurrl.
After posing with the bloodied mask, Griffin lost endorsement deals, a comedy tour and was booted from her longstanding spot hosting New Year's Eve on CNN with Anderson Cooper, according to People.
'I wasn't cancelled,' she told the New York Times. 'I was erased.'
Griffin clawed her way back to prominence in 2023 and has been just as vocal about her distaste for Trump and his policies.
The Daily Mail contacted Griffin for comment.
