A teenage girl allegedly told a man he was going to die before stabbing him in the face, according to fresh new details from the accused's first court appearance.
Four people were charged with murdering 43-year-old Gordon Kessey at an East Street property in Bega, NSW, about 2am on October 6.
Emergency services were called to the residence following a concern-for-welfare report.
Mr Kessey was found dead from alleged stab wounds. Another man, aged 45, was found with stab wounds and was taken to hospital but was released.
Kody Lloyd, 29, Dion Lloyd, 32, Benjamin Robinson, 34, and Latisha Mundy, 19, appeared in court to face charges on Friday.
Each of the accused was also charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent to murder.
Lloyd and Mundy were also charged with possessing an unauthorised firearm.
Pleas have yet to be entered.
Gordon Kessey was killed in Bega in October after being stabbed
Officers found Mr Kessey dead in an East Street property due to alleged stab wounds
Latisha Mundy allegedly told the victim she was going to kill him before officers allege Mundy stabbed Mr Kessey in the face twice
The four accused appeared in Bail Division Court before magistrate Rosheehan O’Meagher where the prosecution opposed bail due to the severity of the crime.
'This was a vicious and violent attack in the middle of the street,' the prosecutor said, reports the Daily Telegraph.
Lloyd and Robinson had not applied for bail but Mundy had made a release application.
Her lawyer Stewart Holt argued that her youth, Aboriginal heritage and lack of custody history made her vulnerable in prison.
The prosecution however, alleged Mundy was a 'willing participant' in the crime.
She has been accused of approaching the 43-year-old man and saying 'you're going to f***ing die' and 'I'm going to kill you' before allegedly stabbing him twice in the face.
She was eventually refused bail, with Ms O’Meagher agreeing the alleged crimes were too serious.
Three other men, Kody Lloyd, 29, Dion Lloyd, 32, and Benjamin Robinson, 34, were also arrested
All four have been charged with murder and causing grievous bodily harm with intent to murder
A second victim was also allegedly stabbed during the initial incident but he survived and was rushed to hospital
A six-week investigation resulted in the four accused being arrested on Thursday.
Police had searched a Bega unit and wetlands in an attempt to recover the alleged murder weapon.
The arrests were eventually made after a tip-off from the public led police to finally crack the case.
Det Acting Insp Luke Walsh said further arrests could not be ruled out.
'This has been a complex homicide investigation involving multiple crime scenes, forensic and investigative searches, and the NSW Police are grateful for the assistance from the local Bega community,' he said.
A second alleged victim, 45-year-old Benjamin Smith, had also been stabbed during the incident and officers said he had not been accused of any wrongdoing.
Mr Smith survived and was taken to South East Regional Hospital.
He has since been discharged.
The four accused will next appear in Batemans Bay Local Court on January 27 via video link as investigations continue.
