Wild scenes near Australia's most famous beach as cops dramatically restrain man on the ground in Bondi
A man has been dramatically restrained by NSW Police following a mental health episode in North Bondi, in Sydney’s eastern suburbs.
Three police paddy wagons blocked off Blair Street opposite a Catholic primary school as officers responded to reports of a resident experiencing a mental health crisis outside a block of apartments.
A local described the scene as 'chaotic' for the usually relaxed beachside suburb.
'They had him on the ground and he didn’t seem to be resisting or causing a commotion to warrant so many officers,' the witness said.
'The person has been taken to hospital. No further information will be provided,' a NSW Police spokesperson said in a statement.
