John Ellison, the brilliant foreign affairs reporter, has died aged 82.
For nearly two decades he was head of the Paris bureau for the then mass circulation Daily Express, charting the early days of the Common Market.
Later he was sent to New York to cover the American scene and then returned to London as Foreign Editor.
His contacts with statesmen and diplomats enabled him to write with great authority on international affairs for several publications.
His funeral is on Thursday April 28 at 3.30pm at St John the Baptist Church, Wimbledon.
