A woman who was mowed down by her ex-boyfriend in a horror hit-and-run has revealed she applied for a restraining order against him just months earlier.
Grace Morrison, 20, was dragged for several metres along a road near Geraldton, in Western Australia, on December 18, 2022.
Her former partner Brady Dermott Collins, 27, was jailed for two years during sentencing at Geraldton District Court last Thursday.
Ms Morrison has since spoken out about the horrifying ordeal revealing that she had tried to take out a restraining order against him months earlier - but it was rejected.
'I was requesting the restraining order because Brady and I had broken up, and it was just utter harassment,' she told the West Australian.
'I couldn't get away from him. He also had keys to my house.'
Ms Morrison, who was in an on-again off-again relationship with Collins at the time, met him at a local pub hours before the hit-and-run unfolded.
The pair travelled to another address where an argument broke out between the pair.

Ms Morrison left to go to another house at Utakarra before Collins followed her in his Holden Colorado.
He lured the then-18-year-old out of the house by honking his horn several times and dangling her handbag outside of his window.
Ms Morrison went to grab the bag before Collins pulled it back inside with her arm still holding onto it.
He accelerated as Ms Morrison tried to grip the roof rack with her free arm.
She fell face first and was dragged along the road before the car ran over the left side of her body.
'I remember lifting my head off the ground and spitting my teeth out and looking up at him, and he's just on the other side of the road, pointing at me, screaming, still under the street light, and then just sped off again,' Ms Morrison said.
Ms Morrison was left with a fractured jaw, a broken shoulder blade and two cracked ribs.
Locals rushed to help her before she was taken to the Royal Perth Hospital.
Western Australian Police arrested Collins hours later.
Collins pleaded guilty to dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm and failing to stop and assist.
Ms Morrison expressed her relief about the jail sentence handed to her former partner.

'I do feel quite happy with the outcome. I do feel like it was justice,' she said.
'I got rid of him one way or the other. Because to be honest, if it wasn't that severe, or if that didn't happen that night, he would probably still be in my life'.
After undergoing surgery, Ms Morrison is still recovering and is heavily dependent on her loved ones to help her with everyday tasks.
She can no longer drive a manual car after she also suffered a serious injury to her left leg.
Ms Morrison revealed she is still gripped by anxiety even though she has moved on with her life close to two years after the toxic relationship ended.
She urged other women in difficult relationships to heed the advice of friends and family if their loved ones notice something is wrong.
Collins will be eligible for parole in 2026.
