A man has been arrested and charged with arson after a building housing a heritage-listed pub went up in flames on Saturday morning.
The fire hit the Oxford Hotel complex in North Adelaide, with emergency services called to the O'Connell Street address about 7am with smoke and flames coming out of the building.
Fire crews extinguished the blaze and no-one was injured in the incident, the police said on Sunday, but the flames caused significant damage to the building.
Fire Cause Investigators and SAPOL eastern district detectives attended the scene and treated the fire as suspicious.
It is understood the fire damaged the accommodation behind the pub and the bar itself was not damaged.
Following investigations, detectives arrested a 37-year-old man at 5.30pm the same day.
The police have charged him with arson and he has not applied for bail.
He is expected to appear at Adelaide Magistrates Court on Monday.
